RANKINGS
alpha The word from this male is complete and utter law, he makes the rules, and whatever he says goes. If you disobey, expect punishment, he does not tolerate anyone that goes against his word. It is highly expected to respect this guy on a daily basis because, look at it this way, he's the one that leads the pack to important resources such as water, food, etc. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. The alpha's job itself also demands a strong and willing personality, you can't be a wimp to take up this job.
alphess Along with the alpha, the alphess is the most respected, and depending on the relationship between the two, she could be the one unsurprisingly in charge. Her word is law just as the alpha's is, and she as well leads the pack to resources just as he does. She should be respected on a daily basis as well, and is the only one allowed to produce within the pack. If you are caught going against this, you will either be murdered along with your pups or driven out of the packs. The alphess, like the alpha, also demands a strong and willing personality, leave the wimps to be the omegas.
pups The newest, most vulnerable, and one of the most treasured members of the pack. Only the alphess is allowed near them in the first few days or first week in their life, but they are eventually allowed and expected attention from every other member. The omegas, however, are the last to ever near or associate anything with the pups. Once the pups grow to an age where they aren't so vulnerable they may be allowed near them. Despite the age, they are also a much higher ranking than any other members, but once they reach two or more years of age they are expected to show as much respect to the alpha and alphess as any other member. They can also be booted out of the pack if they seek to breed or rebel, which can also cause rivalry between packs.
scouts The valued eyes of the pack, otherwise known as assassins or spies. They basically collect important information, like, for example, the status on a nearby pack that might be intercepting their territory. It's a hard rank to reach due to the trust that is involved in carrying it out, and require decent skills and a focused thought process. They also require traits that involve being secretive, trustworthy, intelligent, agile, and especially quick on their feet. When there is no food at a time or a drought occurring they are sometimes sent in search for better resources.
care takers You know, nurses or pup-watchers. The main requirement is that they are related to the alpha and alphess in some way, or are very highly trusted. Think of it this way: the pups are the future and are treasured highly. Pack members often come to these guys when they are inflicted or injured in some way. Often times, however, the alphess is the only one near the pups during their first few weeks or so of vulnerability.
omegas The bottom of the pack. Omegas are where every wolf starts, always, when they recruit to a new founded pack. They are almost always the last to eat, and normally treated poorly by most members due to their low rank. They are often expected to show great respect toward whoever is above them in a chance to renew themselves and escort to a higher rank. Don't expect to be treated as royalty, or you'll get a royal kick-in-the-ego.
