It was said that wolves were menaces. Disgusting. Brutish monsters that tore up everything they saw.. Who were they to call us that? I guess eventually earned it, but it wasn't our faults. No. 'They,' are responsible. 'They' pushed us into this corner. 'They' are the humans. And we? Are we different from any animal? What is so scary about us? Who knows. They should fear us. I'd rather hate than acquaintances between such disgusting creatures as they.
We started out as any other animal around us. We had family, we had friends, we had alliance, we had enemies. We had our problems, they had theirs. Our lives paralleled, we stayed on our line, they stayed on theirs, we never crossed, but we all kept our tabs on each other. The humans were quiet, and scared of us, and we liked it that way.
Now, to be honest, we - the wolves, we're greedy, its in our blood, we always want something we don't have. More land more power, some more than others, some less. But we knew our place and when to stop, every wolf did. But us? We are nothing compared to the humans. Greedy, selfish, uncaring, unloving demons hell sent straight from its stomach, and puked onto us. They stepped out of there lands, TAGGED our families with little things on their ears, only a few. Brightly colored tags, permanently pierced through their ears. Some got them off eventually, others not so easily. We didn't understand, but most of us continued with our own lives. All the things we did, living, hunting, growing.
But, it only got worse. From tagging, they began moving into our lands, building their shelters and trails, where machines they seemed to drive carried them wherever they went. They chased away and killed our food, and forced us to retreat farther away into our land. We were angry, but what could we do..?
And then it happened.. They killed one of our own. Then another. They were hunting us. US. The hunters? The ones they were 'oh so scared' of? Well they had another thing coming. They killed once in a while, not always, but they still continued to press into our lands. Packs were destroyed and scattered away from each other. It came until there was only a small amount of land for the wolves to all share equally. All lines we paralleled were broken. The struggle food was so intense, sometimes we were forced to kill off the weakest or most troubling in the pack to eat - disgusting and manic as that is. Fewer and fewer prey existed, and fewer and fewer of us existed. We had no other choice but to fight back the humans for our land.
It wasn't that we had a war with them, no. But if they dared near us, we had no choice. We killed them. We were their prey and them ours. And how could we deny a meal that would lurk so disrespectfully oblivious into our lands without our consent to our families...? And once we made this choice, we realized quickly what a mistake it was.
They retaliated. They fought us, killed us more and more. For prey? Oh, no, they had enough. They had theirs before, and ours. No, this was revenge. Or elimination. Getting rid of the killer. Because we were OH! SO bad for trying to take care of ourselves. They should have been crushed!-... but no.
And where are we now? Hiding. In our last lands. Wolves around the world are coming to live in this small portion of once was our world. Do they really have a choice? They pushed us to do this.. we will not die. We will survive, and if they try to eliminate us, we'll fight..
we'll win.
