this is fact not fiction,
HE HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH a pearly looking beach before. If anything it should have an even beat of heat out here and a cool rush of tide, but instead it loomed with this overcasting feeling. It was nothing like fun in the sun, and he swore it felt more like he had to start singing 'rain go away, come again another day'. As even though it was only Spring, it sure didn't feel like it. Maybe that was just because he wasn't getting out and about as much as he used to. Ever since he got booted out of his old crew boat he felt like he was a straggler who really had no where to set home base on. At the moment he was alright with it, as he sorta just guessed he had never really had an actual home base before, or a territory of some sort. He surely wasn't planning on becoming leader for some worthless pitch of area or taking up on any responsibilities at the moment as well because, in all honestly, he just wanted to breathe. Breathe. So that was this place? Maybe it really was living up to it's name. Despite his critical views on the temperature of the beach, he actually was beginning to find comfort in where he was. He wasn't running from anything anymore, but this also meant he wasn't running after anything either. He had no where to go. Rhythm felt like he was snatched right on up to a thrilling world, then lurched right back into reality. He just guessed he never really knew what he had until it was gone, and it sure was gone. Dead gone. All of it. His family, hunting buddies, friends and allies, even his enemies or acquaintances that gave him someone to pick on were gone. Only he himself was still here, but everything he once really had then and there felt like it had been peeled from him. Sighing, he lifted his head just a bit to set his muzzle up with the incoming breeze. Maybe he could whiff out something good to eat in the meantime and get his big ole stomach to shut itself up. Perhaps he would bump into someone new? His ears pricked forward at the thought, pushing his long legs forward in attempt to do a half-hearted trot. He was starting to become disappointed in himself because he was quite usually such a pippy juvenile, but down at the feet of defeat he just felt like he couldn't quite grasp that at the moment. Rhythm really did feel like some sorta long lost, vagabond loner. Did he really change his mind too quickly? Jump from one exciting idea to the next without ever really settling with one? Shaking his head as if to rid some of those negative thoughts, he bumped himself up into a more steady beat. Rhythm moved quite smoothly, even though he wasn't on top of his game just at the moment mentally didn't mean he lacked anymore than before physically. Flopping his tongue out of his mouth, he kept his tail pricked up a bit in alert. Despite how lovely these grounds looked and how swell the weather was, he could never fall into another game of trickery or sum up the least into something great and just end up face down in the dirt again. Approaching a small hill, he pushed himself just a bit harder to reach the top at a faster speed. Rhythm pulled himself to a quick halt, quickly scanning over the rest of the beach he had not yet discovered. Eager to find something new, something interesting, anything, anyone, he then continued onward. Maybe this wasn't that bad, and maybe this was supposed to be. He never really believed in destiny or fate, but he did have specks of hope.
for the first time in years.

upon the salted breezes did the scent of the small white wolf travel; sweet and musky, it swirled about upon the zephyrs in a light and pleasant dance. her paws, rabbit-like in appearance, trodded placidly upon the sugary sand in a rhythmic manner, leaving embedded in the earth alternating prints that led to her lithe form. her head swung low with her flowing gate, watching the grains of sand disappear beneath her feet, moist black nose constantly testing the air for foreign scents. she could only detect the stinging essence of the ocean, however, and the sickly sweet stench of rotting seaweed as it washed upon the shore. she drew in a lengthy breath, and released the warmed air back into the atmosphere in a cloud of moisture that swept past her form with smoky tendrils.
the only sound to fill her skull was the consistent, repetitive motions of the beach; the gentle and almost weary sighing of water against sand as the foamy white hands of the ocean reached up to claw desperately at the land. unperturbed by the noise, kiara remained engulfed in her thoughts, which seemed to be as everchanging and endless as the beaches on which she treaded. she grumbled to herself, and hitched her thin ruff up over her neck in an effort to raise her body temperature. the weather actually wasn't too bad, especially for ivory beach-- some would say it was exceptional. maybe it was kiara's lack of thick fur that kept her bitter toward the day. usually she wasn't nearly this cynical; indeed, it was rather strange that she wasn't skipping about shoving her nose into things she isn't supposed to, as kiara usually spends her time. no, today seemed different. lonelier, perhaps. she hadn't seen another soul in weeks, and, being a creature who craves company, she had turned rather sour with each passing day.
her current scowl was quickly replaced by a very familiar expression that seemed to be a mix of excitement, curiosity, anticipation, and determination. she had caught a scent on the breeze of another wolf; a young male, as it were. it was a rare occurrence to find another of her kind when they were hunted so vigorously by the humans that had already claimed most of their habitats, so this seemed to be a novel happening for her. she took a few tentative steps forward before freezing, posture rigid as she assessed his coming footsteps. he's coming this way?! her imaginative mind was already conjuring up pictures of a huge beast with a raging bloodlust. what to do, what to do... preferring to be better safe then very sorry, she dove into the thick shrubbery that lined the beach and ducked within the shadowy recesses of the bushes.
i might as well have just put up a big sign saying, "I'M HERE, MR. STRANGER!" her white coat must be glaringly obvious if this wolf were to pass a glance toward her hiding spot, which consisted of a screen of green branches and leaves. still, she ducked low, and watched the sandy knoll on which he came to stand upon. he was lean, as she was, though he seemed stockier, and, as expected, more masculine. she let a sigh of relief rush quietly past her black lips. he certainly wasn't the massive brute she had envisioned, though that's kiara for you. always blowing things out of proportion.
his coat was a shock of browns and tans and whites; a kaleidescope of neutral colors that made her breath hitch with jealousy. she never liked her coat. it's color was bland and got messy easily and was inconvenient. bringing herself to address the current situation, her golden eyes peered out from the brush, watching him as he sauntered off down the beach, not bothering to look toward her small huddled frame. overcome by a sudden wave of shyness, and she slowly pulled back, deeper into the trees so she may make a quick escape. in the process, however, she felt the snap of a branch beneath her weight, and she sighed in defeat; he was sure to notice her now.

this is fact not fiction,
the grass was greener on the other side. Rattling thoughts constricted in every way from allowing him to cross his limbs into a faster gait. The obsessive gravity pulled down, wrapping tighter around his throat and buckling down with a thrust upon his limbs until he couldn't move any longer. Any extending movement now and he felt like his lungs could burst and his limbs would snap under pressure. The organ deemed a heart within him was already throwing itself against the high stacked and barbed caves of his ribs and he felt like he couldn't sprint any faster. Blocking out any doubt, he could, and he surely would, as moving at such a fast speed to where things all but became a mere blur was so thrilling and quite relaxing rather than nauseating. The auburn mix with dashes and dips of tan and ember flicked out into rich sand clutters behind his high kicked feet, while the warm mix of jade that made up the mast majority of what looked like to be a forest greeted him onward. Frustration was peeling off in long, disgusting amounts which brought him to shudder. Besides this, it arrived in relieving slicks and in under another sixty seconds he felt like he could dig into his new skin and flesh out his entire life all over again. In with the new, out with the old. It felt simply amazing to stretch out his legs, filled to the brim with battered up and tense muscles.
it's all down hill from
here. Refreshed and re stretched, his thoughts no longer sunk and cluttered with depression. His even and rather smooth gate slowed it's top-notch speed, eventually decreasing to a steady lope, beating trot, and then finally a pippy walk. He moved rather quickly, still, but only on the tips of his toes. Rim was beginning to swear his brain had some sorta secret dose of positive, and natural of course, full blown out sets of Dopamine. His high strung tail slid itself side to side in an even beat, as his tongue lolled right on out and past his canines. ... He paused. ... The hell? The once swinging and high strung pippy Old Yeller tail struck itself out in a straight stance while the pair of ears on his head pricked forward and tensed at any sound or movement. His narrow and highly selective vision focused on anything he could possibly use as evidence to what produced the crackling just beyond him. Firstly, he knew it wasn't far. Secondly, he could quite definitely find it. Lastly, he wasn't alone. Not anymore. The 'other' probably heard him just as well as he heard him or her, and he could sense their presence just among the trees and thickening shrubbery beyond him. ... They're getting away... Now, where would they be headin'? The corners of his jaws pinched up slightly and he felt himself grinning and his heart pick up a pace. Gonna get ya...ambling after this complete stranger he found himself rambling on of thoughts of who this other creature could be. A tough, all about poker games with a jazzy nature, yet puny in some form? Or a mammoth sized loon with nothing more of a heart or thought than his own size? Tilting his head just a bit, he found his tension relax when he reached where this 'other' was residing last. Prodding his nose in the leaves and whereabouts their feet and scent were, he took a good ole whiff just out of curiosity. 'Nother one of me, haha! This one all brawn or brain? The distance his paw padding placed itself on increased, he was getting closer.. Curiosity killed the cat, didn't Mom ever tell me such a thing? I'm an idiot. By that point he just about had to do anything to get a grip on who this was and who it could be, why they were here, or even where they came from.. And that reason? He had just about no idea. His suffering was short lived, even though it was completely and utterly optional. The streak of white shocked him enough, and he found himself moving at a much faster haste that he couldn't see. Pressing his weight on the 'other', he came at her with such a fast speed he almost tipped himself right on over her. Nice introduction there. Full-blown tackle. Caught up in speculation of it's bright coat, he shoved the other over in attempt to get her to roll belly up or however the hell he landed on her. ... It's a girl?! Despite how rude of a gentlemen he was, he didn't even further to bother to step offa her and apologize if he managed to get her where he wanted. He just stared. "... Your bright?" What kinda comment is that? Big pat on the back there, Chap. Blinking, he arched his head and snout a bit farther away from her's in attempt to get a better look at it. "My bad, didn't know you were a lil... and bright, Lassie."for the first time in years. & OOC: sorry that took so long! I really didn't mean for it to come out this long.. just kept writing and writing, so don't feel obligated to have to post back huge. Just whatever your comfortable with! Haha, Rim is so weird... ohmygodohmygodohmygod.
maybe the she-wolf had spoke too soon. she could hear him coming through the trees toward her, giving chase as they made their way into the palms that lined the coast. it was as if she could almost feel his breath hot upon her back, and every instinct within her burning muscles screamed at her to run faster, to get away. it seemed as if an hour had passed before she felt him come up beside her, his legs consistently pumping with a constant and undeniable power that far surpased her own. he shoved her small frame to the ground, and outraged, she snapped out at his shadow, which ended up sounding more like a yelp then any kind of aggressive or otherwise intimidating noise. she stumbled down upon the sandy earth, landing on her back before him.
panicked, kiara's black lips hitched up over her gleaming teeth as she looked up at him, her ears pinned against her skull as a rumbling growl began to broil within her chest. he seemed honestly confused; dumbfounded, almost. his sides beat with his panting breaths, and she almost caught sight of a wagging tail. is this a game to him? her fear began to dissapate as she took in his playful expression, though it was quickly replaced with anger.
"you're bright." his comment almost made kiara let forth a bitter laugh, though she withheld it with every inch of self control. "my bad, didn't know you were a lil... and bright, lassie." with a final, puntuated growl like a period to his sentence, she began to untangle herself from his lean legs. "yeah, well, you're rather clumsy! get offa me, would you? damnit." her voice adequetly covered the near heart attack she had just suffered with a sheen of anger and false confidence. her heart fluttered with the stability of a drunken fiend, and she seemed to tremble with uneasiness. she snapped at the nearest possible leg she could reach, and she was able to slip out from under him. kiara arose in a huff, taking a few steps away before shaking out her alabaster coat, which set forth a plume of leaves and dirt.

this is fact not fiction,
Rim doubted her size to be what he expected, he felt as if his senses had exaggerated themselves to some sort of tall tale in the process of toppling the smaller female right on over her heels. A bit of pity rambled about his head but he quickly found a place to shove it out of reach and also from filtering out of his idiotic mouth. Despite this, he also deliberately ignored the idea of stepping off of her or patting himself on the shoulders just enough to realize his rude behavior. Maybe he was just eager to meet someone new, or perhaps adrenaline was still pumping through his veins. Plus she didn't seem all too much of a threat to him and he never meant this to be anything of a threatening introduction. And whatever threatening attempt she tried, he couldn't help but stifle a laugh from the yelp she pronounced when he first hit her. Obviously he hoped to dear god she hadn't heard it because he didn't want to ruin a chance at getting to meet someone out of his dangling and tiresome journey. Which, so far, had only brought him to get out and about and mostly farther from where he previously had been. Perhaps his desire to do this was pressured because of his previous patch of home where the lack of socializing was actually rare to find in his old gang. Shaking his head as if to rid the thoughts, he found himself at the curl of sickness bending within his stomach. Only briefly did he ponder on the idea of guilt, selfishness, betrayal, and a few other stupendously great feelings. His ears tipped back slightly at the further thought, he was damn proud he left, they were the unjustified ones, not he. Accepting her dislike to his actions, he finally retreated from his current stance on her just as she slipped out from beneath him. Flicking an ear, he tipped his head just a bit to glance back at her features. Honestly, he had never seen or even heard of such a single coated, and egg white, coat before. Although it stunned him, it was only an influence bared for a moment on his attention. "Clumsy? Whaddya talkin' about? I totally I meant to hit you." The corner of his lips tensed to a prickling grin that allowed a few swipes of his long tail. "Sorry, sorry! I'm off already!" Always the joker. "Didn't mean to introduce myself that way... Here, let me try this over again." He backed up a few steps, adjusting where he stood until he found himself comfortable. I'm an idiot. His throat cleared over his thoughts inside his head while he spoke much more clearly and a lot less rushed than his earlier excitable tone. This was only to inflict he was serious, but never in an intimidating manner. His warm personality always gleamed through his tone despite how much he tried anyways. "Rhythm... Strange huh? You can just call me Rim for short, whichever works." A single ear lifted forward, his damaged one with the two serrated holes in a hopeful expectancy to an answer from the lass. for the first time in years. & OOC: DONE! <3 and omg sorry, I keep changing how my posts are! I'm trying to stick to one idea and I'm hoping this one will stick. XD And it's alright, I thought your post was wonderful. :3 [/blockquote]

Z U S But dear, don't be sad, it's just a dream you dreamt you had... He wasn't exactly searching for anything in particular today, it just so happened that his legs led him to the beach. His large body, foofy and corpulent, moved through the salom of palm trees with unexpected ease. Not many people would expect a fat wolf to be able to maneuver through the trees like he was able to, but he was a tracker after all. Some people referred to him as "Zus the Tracker" but he honestly preferred the name his parents had given him: Zus. His tail wagged happily, excited to get to the beach and enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city. His long, soft fur bounced every time his small, cat-like paws advanced a space. At times like this, he wished he could inhale the strong smell of brine and identify it as the distinct smell of the sea. But life was life, and though he was without his sense of smell, that would not stop him from enjoying the beach anyways.
Zus noticed the the flooring change from finely-ground dirt, almost a dust, to some sprinklings of sand and finally to pure sand. His tongue hung out the side of his mouth, revealing his small sharp teeth. As soon as he stepped out from the trees, he found disappointment manifest itself in his heart. Dismal clouds painted the sky a frowning grey and as he took a step forward, cold wind met his face. He didn't really feel the cold on his body, the only true place he felt it was on his face.
Movement a mile or two away suddenly caught Zus's attention and he found himself suddenly moving towards it. His pace became a soft lope, but he found it kind of hard to keep his pace against the strong wind. His thick fur made an ideal target for strong wind. It wasn't strong enough to send the sand blowing all over the place, but it was enough to cause Zus difficulty. He made little jumps as he ran to try to cover as much distance as he could, but he was definitely having some trouble with the sand.
After about a half-hour, Zus arrived at the place where he had detected movement. He was panting hard, but despite the panting, he wore a warm smile. His tail wagged good-naturedly, and he began to approach the other wolf. Or wolves, as he soon discovered. As he approached, he noticed the awkward position the two were in, and his tail stopped wagging and his head turned to the side in slight confusion. He only heard bits and pieces of what the male said, but when the two untangled themselves, he felt his tail begin wagging hopefully.
He approached the two with his springy gait, approaching them from the side so they'd both be able to see him. He doubted they would find him much of a threat, considering he looked for the most part like a big sheep. "Well, I hope I'm not intruding or anything, but I figured I might as well come over here and introduce myself considering the terrible weather and all. I'm Zus," he said affably. He didn't really care that his introduction was kind of stupid, he cared more about meeting more wolves.

[ooc - well, its been over a week and I still think this thread would be fun to keep using... so if Haze returns, which I really hope she will, she can jump right in again, but for now I'm going to go ahead and reply. ;D]
Despite the other rather thick coated male's attempt to not surprise Rhythm or Kiara, he almost made him roll over with a heart attack. Usually he wasn't so jumpy, but perhaps he was too focused on the white wolf he just discovered and practically tackled. Light and rather quick on his long legs and firm paws, he jumped out of any inflicting range from the other male just a few feet and partially in front of Kiara. He didn't doubt that Kiara couldn't defend herself under any circumstances, his reflexes merely reflected his instincts. He waited a few moments, glancing at the other momentarily threat before taking away his hasty thoughts. Pricked fur along the mixed brown and red toned wolf's back soon lowered and relaxed along with his bunched up muscles. Rhythm's stick straight tail soon eased to an even beat wag behind him, both ears remaining straight through the whole jump and relaxing process. Almost thought he was a ram for a second! Hah!.. He couldn't help but loll his tongue from his mouth and laugh lightly to himself. "Might just be the weather this beach normally has, never seen one so gloomy before... you have a point." He agreed quickly, hoping his leap of horror away from the male had been forgiven. "Zus huh? Rhythm, you can call me Rim for short if you want, too. Whaddya doing in these parts? There's nothin' to really hunt here... I simply came here in search of relaxation of some sort, heard the waves braced head aches.." He rambled a bit, but quickly wrapped it up in curiosity to what Zus's explanation and reason was.

Zus was slightly surprised when the other wolf responded with defensiveness. I must have startled them... oops, Zus thought to himself with a tilt of his head. He didn't find any hostility in the other wolf's stance, only the instinct of self-preservation. The other wolf could look intimidating when he wanted too, unlike Zus. Zus didn't look intimidating, and that was his best defense. You could literally call him a wolf in sheep's clothing. "Sorry, buddy, didn't know you two were... busy," Zus apologized, but he had no indications of shame or embarressment on his face. Only a friendly smile so that his tongue could loll out the side of his mouth. The only true way one could tell he was a wolf was from his teeth and his face structure, and his tail. His legs were barely visible from all his fluff, but if you looked for a minute it would become clear that he was a wolf. But at a first glance, he seemed only a big, fat sheep.
"Might just be the weather this beach normally has, never seen one so gloomy before... you have a point." Zus's tail began to wag as the other wolf returned conversation. "Yeah, I thought beaches were supposed to be warm and sunny," He replied.
"Zus huh? Rhythm, you can call me Rim for short if you want, too. Whaddya doing in these parts? There's nothin' to really hunt here... I simply came here in search of relaxation of some sort, heard the waves braced head aches.." Zus nodded. "Nice to meet you Rim. I came to get some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, even though this is quite a dangerous vacation spot. Ignoring the orca whales, there's supposed to be some kind of treasure around these parts. I figured it would be fun to try and find it," he said happily.

Scared me shitless.. Instantly, he either took that the wrong way or the right way. "Busy?!" He couldn't help but crack up into laughter. "Barely met her, jeez!" If Kiara was still even there, that must of been awkward for her. Shaking his head with a prickling grin inching on his jaw, he looked back at the rather odd newcomer. Rim couldn't help but recognize his shape, weight... all of it, the fluff especially. Zus really was a sheep looking guy, but at least Rhythm took him as a pissed off ram rather than a female without much of a set of horns. Seeing his tongue flop right out of his mouth, and his bright attitude to seeing him and Kiara, if she was still there of course, he plumped his rump back down on the ground.
The prickled fur along his back wasn't standing out on end anymore, it was relaxed and just as casual and flat along his spine as it was a few moments earlier. Dropping his tail, Rim adjusted how he sat so it was a bit more comfortable in the meantime. "Sure as heck not this one." He agreed further, nodding his head a bit as he flicked his ears at the finches and sparrows chirping cautiously around him. Even though he had relaxed, he felt his head prodding at alarm again. "C.. i.. ty?" He said a bit slowly, not quite sure what the heck the male had just spoken of. "What are you talking about? What's that?" He laughed, quirking an invisible brow on his vase, bemused. Is everyone gibberish around here? This place is weird.
Nodding again, his thoughts trailed for a few moments onto the ocean as he glanced briefly upon it. "Anything black and white like that is singin' death from a mile away... He mumbled, ridding his thoughts of any seals he had witnessed on his trip over here. "Treasure?!" Now, the city or whatever the word was kinda made him question himself, the orcas gave him some nasty thoughts, but treasure? Oh, hell, he was a happy camper now. "Where.. !?" He urged, blinking a few times as he looked back over at the sheep Mr. Zus.

When Rim started laughing, Zus knew for sure he hadn't interrupted anything. He was glad, but he wondered what had happened to get them like that in the first place. "C.. i.. ty? What are you talking about? What's that?" This time it was Zus's turn to laugh. "It's like a giant pack of humans but they all live separately and don't all know each other. They have these mountains that they make perfectly straight up and down that they live and work in. It's always very active in cities, and generally wolves are hated in cities so it's a harder life choice for wolves when they decide to live in the city. It's exciting though," Zus explained, his tail gently wagging behind him. Another gust of wind caught his coat and almost sent him flying, but luckily enough, he was able to catch himself before he fell.
"Treasure?!Where.. !?" Zus scrunched his brow in thought. "Well, I'm a tracker, so I find lost things. I hear a lot of stories from other trackers in the city, so I figured I'd look for it. I actually don't have a sense of smell though, so it makes it hard for me to find things some time so I could probably use a little help on this one."
