Name: Rafael
Alias: Rafael. You’d better not call him anything else, unless he really likes you.
Sex: Male
Age: 2
Breed: Ethiopian Wolf
Build: Short for a wolf, a mere 23 inches, and lighter than most wolves, he is about the size of a small Border Collie. But don’t let that fool you, because he is lightning fast on his feet due to his small stature and wiry muscles. He is built for speed and agility, less for brute strength.
Fur: Predominately a red-brown in hue, this darkens to black on his flanks and near the tip of his tail. White splashes break the monotony of red on the underside of his jaw, underbelly, and the insides of his legs. Of a medium-short length, his fur is soft to the touch but with a coarse second coat underneath.
Overall look: With his small build and lean muscles he doesn’t look like much, but his intense, dark ocher eyes betray the truth: He could be just as dangerous as a much bigger wolf. The color of his pelt makes deserts and rocks the perfect place for him to blend in.
History: Lets keep this short and sweet, and leave some secrets to be discovered [mostly because I’m horrible and don’t feel like giving him a long history right now]. He was born into a large pack as the alpha of some other pack’s pup. But that was normal for his breed. He was to follow in his father’s footsteps, though in a different pack, until they realized how small he was going to be. How could such a small wolf be a leader? He couldn’t. They thought he was weak. So the position was going to be given to his much bigger brother. Resentment was born. He was constantly trying to prove himself; bringing home the best prey, fighting intruders the hardest. In other words, being the best at everything. He worked on getting faster, because even he knew that he would never be as strong as most wolves, and more agile. He began winning fight after fight. Rafael began bringing home more and more food, rarely eating his own catch. But it wasn’t enough. The bitterness grew until it was too much and he left the pack to be on his own. He isn’t particularly fond of being alone, but it was better than the alternative.
Personality: Being the runt of the litter, he is very touchy about his size. Mock him at your own risk. You might say he has little man syndrome. He puts on an arrogant exterior to make up for the slight insecurity he has over his stature, which gets worse the larger the wolf he’s talking to is. This may make him seem obnoxious to some, but once you get over the arrogance, he can actually be quite friendly [contrary to popular belief] with his dry sense of humor. Unfortunately, this is often overshadowed by his hot-headedness and sort of cynical outlook on life.
