Earth. Water. Air. Fire.
These are the four everlasting elements, never changing and in a constant steady circle that life is sustained in. The world seems to change, however, but it's more of the people changing than the world itself. The people in the world are constantly progressing, finding new ways to destroy the world and amuse themselves in the progress. These are the people in our world who believe that superpowers are only in comic books and movies, impossible to posess and highly unlikely to ever exist, so the evidence found in scientific experiments says. And like with most things, these people are wrong.
In an alternate world, there are the Chosen. The few in one generation that posess the powers that humans only wish they had. Their powers vary, and they can have as many as two for normal cases, but there are the rare few that posess three of these gifts. Now the reason for these powers is unknown, a suspected tiny flaw in a single DNA strand that would be impossible to find. Of course, it's not like they themselves would try to change the fact they have powers, but some would like to change to have more, and stronger, powers. And some would just like to make sure no one has powers but them.
This is where the Society comes in. The Chosen founders of the Society Boarding School, four people who decided to build the school. Aire, Tierra, Fuego and Agua, named after each of the four elements, decided to gather the stray Chosen teenagers and place them in a boarding school. The teenagers are sent a letter when they reach high school age, then taken to the town to go to the boarding school. Of course, at this school the students were meant to have a place safe to practice their powers.
The school and town are a mix of humans and Chosen, but a rivalry between the two races has developed. Though they still interact and some are friendlier than others, the two races believe the other should not be there. Two gangs in the town have formed, composed of the ones who have an extreme hatred for the other race, and take things to the extreme: Murder. So, will the two finally be able to have peace among them, or will it be an ongoing war?
